Do You Eliminate or Accumulate Toxins?  (30/05/2006)

Do You Eliminate or Accumulate Toxins?

Fiber! It’s that Important?

It is estimated that 90 percent of all diseases begin in the colon. The reason for this is because the colon is the sewage system for the body.

When we eat food, we should eliminate what was just eaten in approximately 24 hours. This is referred to as transit time, which is the amount of time it takes from when you swallow food to when you eliminate it out of your body. The average American’s transit time is approximately 50 to 60 hours. When we become constipated we hold poisons in the body for additional hours.

The colon is responsible for eliminating poisons and toxins. When we don’t eliminate them in a timely fashion these toxins begins to rot and putrefy in the body. They begin to emit toxins into the tissues, which internally pollutes the body. What are we doing to our internal environment? Are we over-polluting the insides of the body?

Is constipation, yeast overgrowth and parasites polluting our internal environment? Are we taking a somewhat pristine area, the colon and transforming it into a swamp? This internal environment, if polluted, can make life more difficult for all the cells, tissues and organs that live in that environment. This could be the cause of so many problems ranging from: high cholesterol, high blood pressure, allergies, fatigue, PMS, menopausal symptoms, headaches, acne, arthritis and weight gain.

These are some of the more readily identifiable problems associated with constipation and our inability to properly eliminate the poisons and toxins from the body. But what about some of the other more devastating diseases and autoimmune problems such as, cancer, lupus, multiple sclerosis, stroke and heart disease? Maybe the internal environment is so polluted that it is affecting the cells, tissues and organs and how they function, whereby they are unable to keep us free from disease and illness.

If the bowels are not moving 1-2 times a day, and it is painful and odorous, begin using a natural fiber supplement in your daily diet and increase the intake of fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Your body will love you for it! Fiber acts like sandpaper as it runs through our intestines scraping and pulling toxins out of the body.
